How do I use my Tivo with voip (wireless) without installing a router?

This wont work. I use Packet8 VOIP and I tried this. The Tivo DVR uses an analog modem and cannot connect over a digital VOIP connection.
Dialup connectons don’t work over VOIP. You need a regular land line for Tivo; it says so in the docs. With or without a router wouldn’t make any difference.
