That guy makes no sense, you want the highest level of encryption possible. Also, a MAC address can be spoofed, not that difficult. That guy tried to sound like an expert but he has no idea what he’s talking about. Encryption slows down bandwidth? wtf?

No its not! so your home… is in the middle of a city? and you think everyone within range doesnt know how to hack wifi? hacking WEP is so easy, and cloning MAC with unsecure networks is even easier, enable MAC with WPA2! If you think using ONLY MAC filtering is safe! Then you really are even more stupid than you already sound :-S Using MAC filtering as your only defence should be done when you live on a lone farm / in the middle of no where!

DO NOT JUST USE MAC ADDRESS FILTERING ALWAYS USE ENCYRPTION! Fools, MAC Adresses can be cloned, Use WPA2! I don’t know why they have WEP on anymore because it can be cracked within an hour.

Uhm, did you watch the video? The guy recommends not using WPA2 at all and just using MAC filtering. Which is completely useless.

    hahahaha
crack faster :P (only spoof a MAC)

wpa2 alot of data to be gathered (if the user only stay’s on email)

of course it takes like 5 seconds to snoop traffic and find a valid MAC address, and then just spoof one of them.

you do need a modem everytime you need to connect to router. But some rounters have a modem built in to it, but you always need a moden for every router.

to clear this up, routers can have modems in them, it’s very common. that particular one didn’t have a built in modem but you can buy the same model with a modem in it costing a little more.

how irresponsible is it telling people to leave their networks unencrypted. Sure it makes it harder to get on with mac address filtering and theres no CPU overhead for encryption, but anybody who is sniffing it can read all of your plaintext passwords. MMMM HEAPS GOOD (N)

At which point did i say the belkin n1 vision had a router in it? Exactly i didnt! I was making the point that routers CAN have modems in… not that this particular one does. The reason i said that is because you stated “NO it doesn’t have a modem in it. It’s a router…” which sounds as though routers cant have modems in according to you.
Anyway that was not the point of my comment you attacked madclown for asking a reasonable question.

    Instead you attacked him
