I have recently added a voip connection to my broadband connection. Here’s the deal. I have a wireless router (neighbors) that i have access to but cant change settings. I can connect my laptop to it using the wireless option. I have a router that connects to the phone. Can I connect the router to the laptop and use the internet connection I am currently using and use same ip? Do I have to create a vpn? Its a motorola vt2142 (vonage router). Is there any way to do this? I require the phone for my work and would appreciate if someone could help me out with this!

Is that fast enought to use VOIP and not run into alot of problems. I know you would have to be worried about both your up and down speeds. I have heard some say VOIP works great while others say that the service drops their calls or that they have poor quality. I am thinking about using VOIP to add an additional phone line to my small business so that I can call out for free as well in the US. Can I rely of the service or should I stick with a traditional land line? Also does anyone know of a cheap landline long distance placn?

On my ipod touch i installed voip 1.1 and i entered my account info correct but when i try to conect it just freezes up and i have to restart my ipod. Can someone tell me how to fix this problem or get voip 1.0

We have come across a situation where we would like to record some phone calls made in the workplace through our soft VoIP phones. Optimally, this software would be able to run on a computer connected to the same network without having to install anything on the server - however, I am not opposed to any solutions including the server.
We’re using Avaya VoIP phones that go directly into our network.

I have a wireless router, and also a cable modem. Is it okay to connect the VOIP adapter to the cable modem and have an Ethernet cable go to the wireless router (which is connected to the computer)? I really don’t want to connect the VOIP adapter to my wireless router…will that create any problems or decrease service quality? Please briefly explain why. Thank you!
